Specifically, the webinar will: 1. Explain the difference between human trafficking screening and assessment; 2. List different screening tools specific to at-risk youth; 3. Explain trauma-informed approaches in screening and assessment; 4. Identify appropriate responses once administered.

Reimagining Juvenile Justice

The webinar will provide an overview of the Re-imagining Juvenile Justice (RJJ) framework. RJJ’s two primary goals are to help juvenile justice professionals – and ultimately agencies and systems –Embed a Positive Youth Development approach to working with young people and their families, and Apply a Cross-Systems approach to working with adjacent and related agencies and systems rather than functioning in isolation or as adversariesAttendees will learn about the overall framework and the curriculum's six modules.

Attendees will also learn about next steps to become trainers in the RJJ framework to bring the curriculum and approach to their community

Assessment Centers: Juvenile Justice Domain

The National Assessment Center Association recently released the definition of an assessment as well as the domains they work within: juvenile justice, child welfare, and prevention.

Hear from three assessment centers on how they serve youth who come into contact with law enforcement and their effort to divert and/or prevent further involvement with the juvenile justice system.  You'll learn more about how each center serves as a single point of entry, provides screening and assessment and works to divert youth from the juvenile justice system by connecting them to supportive services in their communities.

Assessment Centers: Prevention Domain

The National Assessment Center Association recently released the definition of an assessment as well as the domains they work within: juvenile justice, child welfare, and prevention.  Hear from three assessment centers about their partnering with schools, parents/caregivers, and community stakeholders in an effort to prevent the need for law enforcement and/or child welfare involvement. You'll learn more about how each center serves as a single point of entry, provides screening and assessment and works to prevent youth from entering the juvenile justice and child welfare systems by connecting them to supportive services in their communities.
